Last month, we got word that a celebrated wedding planner and event designer — someone who has spent her career creating the most beautiful moments imaginable — chose Goldie Home’s Lisbon Stripe to set the table for her birthday dinner. Not just anywhere. At Hotel Vermelho in Comporta, Portugal — Christian Louboutin’s stunning boutique hotel, where the landscape is wild and golden, the architecture is warm and earthy, and every detail feels considered.

The Table
She paired the Lisbon Stripe with candles in a cherry tomato hue, gold and white table lamps, mustard yellow votives, and easy white dishes. The combination was warm, layered, and completely alive — every element playing off the stripe’s rich tones in the most natural way. The colors didn’t clash. They sang.
And then something magical happened that no one could have planned: the guests arrived dressed in warm shades of reds and browns, as if they had coordinated with the table itself. The whole scene became one gorgeous, cohesive palette — people and place and print woven together seamlessly.
The Setting
Hotel Vermelho’s backdrop did the rest. The red, white, and wood chairs picked up the tones of the Lisbon Stripe perfectly. The landscape — open, golden, utterly Portuguese — gave the table a sense of romance that only alfresco dining in the south of Portugal can offer. Long evenings, warm air, candlelight flickering against linen.
